Fantasy cricket league competitions, similar to those in various national newspapers but based on your own club's players, can be a lot of fun and a good way of raising much needed funds for your club - one club made over £700 profit in one year from their competition!

The rules of these competitions vary but basically the entrants select a team of players and the winner is the person whose team accumulates the most points for their batting, bowling and fielding performances throughout the season.

Running a fantasy cricket league competition used to involve a lot of work producing the entry forms, checking that the teams conformed to the rules of the competition, calculating the points for the teams after each match and producing a league table but the Fantasy Cricket Manager add-on for Cricket Statistics for Windows can take care of all these jobs for you.

Reports

With just a few mouse clicks or keystrokes, the Fantasy Cricket Manager can produce the following reports:

{bullet} League Table {Click here for sample report}
{bullet} Team Summary {Click here for sample report}
{bullet} Player Ratings {Click here for sample report}
{bullet} Entry Form {Click here for sample report}
{bullet} Player List {Click here for sample report}

These reports can be printed, viewed on screen, exported to HTML files for publishing on a web site or exported to other Windows applications (e.g. Spreadsheets, Word Processors or Desk Top Publishing packages).

Data Entry

Data entry simply involves entering the teams into the Fantasy Cricket Manager which then checks that they conform to the rules of the competition.

Details of the players' performances in each match are entered via Cricket Statistics for Windows, which normally only takes around 5 - 10 minutes per match, and the Fantasy Cricket Managerthen extracts the relevant information to compile its reports.

Competition Rules

Each fantasy team must contain 11 players which can be substituted at any time during the season (a maximum of 11 substitutions are allowed per fantasy team).

You can avoid everyone selecting the same 11 best players for their fantasy teams by allocating each player a value (based on their performance in previous seasons) and defining a maximum total value for the fantasy teams.

You can define the minimum and maximum number of batsmen, bowlers, all rounders and wicket keepers allowed in each fantasy team and, if required, you can even define the minimum and maximum number of each type of batsmen (e.g. opener, middle order, tailender) and bowlers (e.g. seam, spin, fast, medium etc.).

The points awarded to players for runs, wickets, 50s, 5-wkts catches, stumpings etc. can be defined so you can easily 'tune' the system to suit your competition.

If required, you can apply different weightings for each type of match (e.g. friendlies, league etc.), each team (e.g. 1st XI, 2nd XI etc.) and each type of player (e.g. full member, colt etc.).
