Updating from earlier versions

V3.00.xx of the Fantasy Cricket Manager and V5.00.xx of Cricket Statistics for Windows use a new database format and you will need to convert any databases created with V4.00.42 (or earlier) of Cricket Statistics for Windows to the new format before they can be accessed by the latest versions of the Fantasy Cricket Manager and Cricket Statistics for Windows. This is a simple process using the V5.0x Database Converter supplied with V5.00.xx of Cricket Statistics for Windows - please see the on-line help in Cricket Statistics for Windows for more information.

V3.00.00
Improvements
1 Fantasy Cricket Manager is now a 32-bit program - this was essential for the implementation of several of the improvements listed below and has resulted in improved performance but it means that the program will no longer run under 16-bit versions of Windows (i.e. Windows 3.1x and WFWG 3.1x).
2 When installing the program on a machine containing a previous version, the folder containing the previous version is now offered as the default installation folder for the new version.
3 The user is now given the option of displaying the Read Me file at the end of the installation.
4 The Read Me file has been changed from Microsoft Write format to Microsoft Word V6 format to avoid compatibility issues with some versions of WordPad.
5 Right-clicking the database lists on the New Fantasy League and Edit Fantasy League dialogues now pops-up a menu from which the sort mode (i.e. by ascending club name, by descending club name, by ascending year or by descending year) for the list can be selected and notes explaining this have been added to the status bar messages for these dialogues.
6 Minor changes to the highlighting of entries in the league/database/file lists and display of file names on the Open Fantasy League, Save Fantasy League As, Select HTML Template and Export Report dialogues.
7 The column widths of most text fields in reports can now be set to Optimized or Fixed via the Reports page of the Options - User Preferences dialogue.
8 An option to use the current XP Style in Fantasy Cricket Manager has been added (in place of the option to turn the sound on/off). Note: with XP Styles selected, it may not be clear when check boxes and option buttons receive the focus - this appears to be due to an incompatibility with certain display adapters and the only solution is to turn XP Styles off.
9 Various changes to the layout of the Options - User Preferences dialogue as a result of the above improvements.
10 Various changes to the on-line help to incorporate the above improvements.
Bug Fixes
1 On systems running Windows XP with SP2 (Service Pack 2), the LEAGMAN.WRI file could not be opened in WordPad.

7 The sort criteria is now included, where appropriate, in previewed/exported statistics reports.
8 A Copy button has been added to the various report previews to simplify copying reports to the clipboard (this is in addition to the previous method of copying reports to the clipboard - pressing the <Ctrl> and <Insert> keys together).
9 .FAN files are now automatically associated with the Fantasy League Manager during installation.
10 An uninstall facility is now provided.
11 Various minor clarifications and cosmetic changes to the on-line help.
Bug Fixes
1 Fantasy Leagues and databases in the main Fantasy League Manager directory were not listed (until changing to another directory and then changing back) on the File - Open Fantasy League, File - Save Fantasy League As or Edit - League dialogues if the last used fantasy league or database was on a floppy disk and the disk had been removed.
2 The (1 Inns)/(2 Inns) field was not shown for 1999/2000 season databases in the database list on the Edit Fantasy League dialogue (the Open Fantasy League, Save Fantasy League As and Export Reports dialogues have been widened to match CSfW).
3 Certain team names (e.g. M C C) were truncated in printed/previewed reports.
4 Run Time error 5 when right-clicking on the drop-down list of players' names on the Players or Substitutes pages of the Team Details dialogue.
5 A dialogue giving the option of saving the current league positions/points was displayed when printing/previewing League Table reports when the previous position or entry fee fields were included in the report - it should have been displayed when the previous position or previous points fields were included in the report.
6 A Run Time Error 9 could occur when printing/previewing reports when players had achieved certain special events and the match/team/membership weightings were set to values greater than 1.
7 A Run Time Error 14 could occur when exporting VERY large reports.
8 A Run Time Error 14 could occur when copying VERY large reports to the clipboard - the program no longer crashes but a full solution is not possible until the Fantasy League Manager becomes a 32-bit program.
9 The correct context-sensitive help for the report previews was not displayed when pressing <F1> or <Shift><F1>.
10 Scrolling previewed reports very fast horizontally could cause the displayed report to 'creep' and, in exceptional cases, could cause the program to crash with a Run Time error 30010.
11 The landscape orientation option on the Player List dialogue was still shown as available when landscape printing had been disabled via Options - Printer Fonts.
12 The 'type-ahead' facility did not recognise non-alpha-numeric characters (e.g. - ' , . etc.) in fields.
13 The prompt on the status bar was not updated if a problem occurred while saving a fantasy league or exporting a report.
14 Closing down the Fantasy league Manager when the main window was maximised then reducing the screen resolution to 640x480 could cause a Run Time Error 384 when the program was re-started.
15 Closing down the Fantasy League Manager when the main window was maximised then reducing the screen resolution to 640x480 could result in a Run Time error 384 when the program was re-started.
16 Running Cricket Statistics for Windows from the Fantasy League Manager File menu resulted in an error message if the path to the program contained a <space> character (e.g. C:\PROGRAM FILES\CSFW).
17 An error was sometimes reported when running Cricket Statistics for Windows from the Fantasy League Manager File menu.
18 The names of the Program Manager/Start Menu group and program icon in the FAQ section of the on-line help were incorrect.
19 An explanatory message, rather than "Error 65536", is now given if there is a problem locating or reading a source file during installation and possible solutions are suggested.
